Title:mHealth Interventions to Address Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour in Cancer Survivors
Abstract:Cancer affects all world regions and is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Cancer survivors reported poorer physical and mental health compared to adults without cancer. Cancer survivors are also at increased risk of recurrent cancer and other diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary behavior have the potential to improve the health and quality of life of cancer survivors. Participation in physical activity during and after cancer treatment is associated with improvements of physiologic and psychosocial outcomes. In contrast, high levels of sedentary behavior in cancer survivors has been linked to increased all-cause mortality, sleep disturbance, poorer physical functioning, and lower quality of life. The proliferation of mobile devices and continuous access to the internet provide an opportunity for mobile health (mHealth) to be used to address physical activity and sedentary behavior in cancer survivors. mHealth is defined as the use of mobile phones, patient monitoring devices, personal digital assistants, and other mobile wireless devices to support medical and public health practice. This presentation will discuss mHealth interventions that have been used to address physical activity and/or sedentary behavior in people who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer. Most research evaluated the efficacy of mHealth apps, wearable trackers, and text messages in increasing physical activity or increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary behaviour. On the whole, mHealth has been found to effectively address physical activity and sedentary behaviour in cancer survivors.

题目:mHealth Interventions to Address Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour in Cancer Survivors
